The decision to undergo orthodontic treatment can greatly improve the appearance of your smile, oral health, and self-confidence. For patients with moderate alignment issues, clear aligners may be your best bet for a quicker, straighter smile, however, every patient and their needs vary and not every patient is a suitable candidate for clear aligners. For patients with more severe cases, including overbites and underbites, crooked teeth, or overcrowding, traditional braces are for you. Whether your case is moderate or severe, you can rest assured that our orthodontist can provide you with the highest level of care possible to provide you with a smile you will love.
Uneven or crooked teeth can effect your self-confidence and many patients are apprehensive about undergoing orthodontic treatment due to the noticeable brackets and amount of time needed from start to finish. If you have avoided straightening your teeth until this point, clear aligners may be for you.
Traditional braces use metal wires and brackets to shift teeth into proper alignment. Over the course of your treatment, we regularly perform adjustments at our office. During these visits, we tighten the wires, which cause your teeth to move into the next phase of alignment.
Ceramic braces are a translucent, tooth-colored alternative to traditional metal braces. They are used to correct the same dental issues as metal braces and clear aligners, which include overbites, underbites, crooked or crowded teeth, crossbites, and mismatched dental midlines.
Retainers keep teeth aligned after orthodontic treatment. Instead of moving teeth, retainers hold them in place using a custom fit. They can be removable or fixed, with removable retainers worn daily and fixed ones bonded to teeth. This process ensures long-term stability for a straight smile.
Palatal expanders widen the upper jaw using a custom-fit device. Instead of applying direct pressure to teeth, the expander gradually separates the palate. This process creates more space, helping to correct crowding, improve bite alignment, and enhance breathing, forming an essential part of orthodontic treatment plans.
If your child loses a tooth early or has a missing tooth, their smile may be at risk of misalignment. We are dedicated to helping young patients maintain proper spacing for their teeth as they grow. A space maintainer is a custom appliance designed to hold space for permanent teeth.
